Description
One of the most well-known theropod species is Tyrannosaurus rex,
often known as T. rex or T-Rex (rex means “king” in Latin).
On the ancient island continent known as Laramidia,
where modern-day western North America is located, T
yrannosaurus lived. As compared to other tyrannosaurids,
Tyrannosaurus had a significantly larger range.
The Maastrichtian era of the Upper Cretaceous period,
which lasted from 68 to 66 million years ago,
is where fossils may be discovered in a variety of rock formations.
It was one of the final non-avian dinosaurs to exist prior to the
Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction disaster and the last member
of the tyrannosaurids that was known to have lived.
